Business Services/ Bookkeeping

We refer to our Bookkeeping Services as a part of Business Services. The Taxation legislation requires that taxpayers, business, investors & individuals, maintain their records in a format that is suitable for audit by the Tax Office.

Record keeping, in itself, can be your best protection from, or in the event of, a Tax Audit – whether it be income tax, CGT or GST. We recommend, and assist, our clients to maintain proper transaction records, preferably utilising an online accounting software of you choice, that is linked to your bank account and records. We recommend XERO as simple and easy to work with, and with all the functionality to enable you to operate your business and to enable us to manage your tax reporting and compliances. Properly maintained and reconciled bookkeeping records matched to banking records and lodgements will make short work of any tax audit and should result in a clear outcome and less likelihood of frequent repeat audits.

Bookkeeping records is one part of business meeting its reporting obligations. Any employer that has employees will also become engaged in registering, managing and reporting PAYG withholding, utilising Single Touch Pay, Superannuation obligations, State based Workcover & Payroll Tax, Employment agreements and Awards. In the construction industry you will be exposed to CoInvest, Incolink, and if working on larger union sites a number of other allowances and penalty rates.

Our Business Services staff assist our clients with these additional obligations. We take the time and effort to understands all areas our clients are exposed to and to work with you to identify and manage all these obligations facing any business.
